February Favourites! (2015)

Hey its finally March! How are you doing? I'm currently procrastinating, maybe I should stop hmm.. anyways here's my February favourites, and this is just the things I had been loving vvv much this month, of course there's a lot more I love but I decided to include fewer stuff so it doesn't get too stuffed.

Allegiant by Veronica Roth - I'd gotten really obsessed with the Divergent series so so much, but I actually enjoyed Divergent and Insurgent more than Allegiant (well I haven't finished it yet), maybe because I enjoyed it all in Tris' POV and not switching it from one to another all the time, but I still enjoyed it enough to be a part of monthly favourites.

FujiFilm Instax Mini 8 - I received this polaroid camera during Christmas and I had been taking loads of polaroids ever since. There are 7 different colours (white, pink, blue, yellow, black, raspberry, grape) raspberry and grape are the newest colours, comparing to the original colours its a lot brighter since the original colours are all pastel related (other than black). It comes with 5 different settings/lighting which could be used in different environment. They are absolutely adorable and handy when taking pictures with friends and family.

M.A.C Lipstick 'Kinda Sexy' -  I got this last year but the one in the picture is for my friend. Its a really nice nude colour which works on a variety of skin tones. It is a matte lipstick, but you don't have to worry about your lips getting chapped, since the texture is really creamy and nice. Plus it smells really nice, vanilla-ish cookie dough-ish <3

Smith's Rosebud Salve in a Tube - The tube is really convenient since you don't have to dab your finger or ruin it at all, the subtle rose scent and tint is lovely. Even though it's shiny on lips but its not sticky at all, keeping it moisturized at all time, but I'm not a big fan of petroleum based products.

Nike Free 5.0 (Hyper Punch) - When I first saw this at the store, I was like "OMG I needa get it!" so I did. Nike Free is known for the high flexibility which allows you to run freely, and ever since I received these shoes I wanted to run so badly! Definitely worth the price!

The Vampire Diaries - I've never been so obsessed with a TV show before, but I guess I am! I'm currently on 5x05 (season 5 episode 5) *burst out of tears* because of Bon Bon's death )): There are a lot of supernatural stuff and shipping going on #Klaroline #Delena #Stelena and all that stuff, I ship #Klaroline as much as I love pizza hehe

A Little Too Much by Shawn Mendes - How could you not love it!1!1! The lyrics of this song is everything, and so relatable (you will get what I mean if you listen to it) Actually a lot of Shawn's lyrics are so meaningful and relatable to us teenagers, but this song just stands out of all. Shawn is trying to tell us that its okay to show when you break down because everybody feels the same.

Crash Test Dummy - Reed Deming - Reed Deming is adorable hehe (he's only 16 like Shawn aksdsakgdsd) its a really catchy and meaningful (again!) It's a song about self acceptance, we as teenagers have so much to go through, and there is so much pressure that is put on us by the society, media, peers or parents. Its just a confusing journey figuring out who we are in this world and who we want to become, but I feel that despite all our flaws and imperfections, we need to accept who we truly are, even if we aren't perfect we still need to understand that no one else is.

Never Be Alone by Shawn Mendes - #sorrynotsorry but Shawn Mendes' songs are so empowering and the video is absolutely beautiful. By the way he's gonna be touring with Taylor Swift this year! Wow so much for a 16 year old Canadian boy aka my bae <3

Mikey Murphy - He had been my human favourites this month among with my all time faves 5SOS and Shawn Mendes (duhhh) he's another adorable human being! hehe

Lorde's New M.A.C Makeup Collection!

Lorde is well known for her dark lips and her wing-tipped eyeliner that stretches really long, this signature look looks fabulous on her. Finally, we will be able to buy the "Royals" singer's own makeup collection in June.

We all know that Lorde has her signature dark lips look, we are so happy to know that we could get the exact look of hers brought by M.A.C. The dark lips that she wears on regular basis caught our attention and even M.A.C's attention and is having a Dark Collection collaboration with Lorde.

In the picture for M.A.C, she is wearing the M.A.C lipstick in Pure Heroin (which is also the name of her album), it is a dark plum colour, with a Penultimate eyeliner in Rapidblack. The lipstick will be for $16USD and the eyeliner for $19.50USD.

According to her interviews, “I have loved MAC Cosmetics since I was a little kid,” the “Royals” singer told The Cut in March. “I remember saving up to buy my very first MAC lipstick [Snob] at 14, and it was used by about 20 of my friends! MAC has a very clear aesthetic, that has always felt fashion forward to me. So I was really excited to work with them on these products, which I use pretty much every day and night. I hope you will too”.

It is sad to know there will only be two products in this collection, but it would still be nice if you are a fan of Lorde (well I am), the lipstick is a bit too dark to try out but it would look nice for festive like Halloween, or rock it up with a smoky eye look, its always nice to try something out, right?

The collection will be released to public in Times Square and Fifth Avenue M.A.C store and online at MACcosmetics.com on June 5, and will be released internationally in July.

WHAT? : Bobby Pins 101

Hello, ello! You know what? You had been using bobby pins the wrong way! Shocking, right? Buttt...this is true. Bobby pin is one essentials for your hair, its really handy yet basic, just with a push, your hair is in place. You must be really surprising that you had been using bobby pins in the wrong way for your whole life, like WHAT?!

The correct way to use a bobby pin is just by a flip of your hand. The wavy side should be facing down instead of UP, it is actually designed to grip your hair so that it wouldn't fall down or slide down. Did you tried that out? If you did, you will notice a difference.

Polish'ed: Perfect Manicure

Hello! Have you ever had the problem with nail polish on your skin and cuticles? Not everyone have steady hands like some people do (well..they are really lucky), and we always end up having a disaster, or not really nice nails. Here is a tip to prevent that happen and could possibly help you LOADS. All you will be needing would be two easy materials, a Q-tip and some Vaseline.

Materials/Tools:

• Q-Tip 
• Vaseline (an alternative would be lotion)

Steps:

1. Dab some Vaseline (or lotion) onto your Q-tip 
2. Carefully apply it onto your skin and cuticles (if you didn't push or cut them off). Beware that don't wipe it onto your actual nail.
3. Paint your nails as usual. (the usual steps, apply a thin layer let it dry and apply another thin layer and let it dry)
4. Now when your polish is fully dry (which usually takes 15 minutes), use another q-tip and wipe off the Vaseline (or lotion) on your skin.
5. Wash off with soap, as oil is hard to completely wipe off.

I hope this works for you as it did for me!

Revlon Parfumerie Nail Enamel Review

Hi, its Joyce here again! So a month ago, I went to this local beauty store called Sasa, and came across this product. I had heard about this before getting it, from YouTube and such, but I never get the chance to see it in real life. In the store I went to, there were only about 8 colour swatches which there should be 16 colours available in Hong Kong and 24 in total around the world. For the first time, I got the colour/flavor “apricot nectar”, it is in this really pretty coral colour.

I was so impressed by the formula; it was really smooth, neither too thick nor streaky, and the incredible scent that smells just like what it’s called. They are 7USD each at Sasa, but I think they are only $5USD in the US, which probably because it is not a local product.The Revlon Parfumerie Nail Enamel is break down into three categories,  Sweets and Spices, Freshes, Fruits and Florals.

L: Apricot Nectar R: Pink Pineapple

First off, the bottle just reminds me of cute little perfume bottles that I saw on old TV shows. At first, I thought the round cap/knob would make it harder to apply but instead these are really easy to work with, maybe because of the formula as well. I simply just have nothing to say about it, the formula is great, it’s really smooth, not streaky at all, and comes perfect in just two to three thin coats (I mean really thin coats).

I absolutely just LOVE these nail polishes and currently my favourite nail polish of all, I think Revlon did an AMAZING job on matching up the colours with the scent and of course with the name of the “flavor”. The scent starts just 10-20 seconds after applying not too overwhelming, and what I love about it that the scent kinda cover ups the stinky nail polish odor which is GREAT, cause no one would know and that odor really bothers me (I could keep sneezing, and I just don’t like it).

The drying time of this nail polish was pretty fast, just like usual nail polishes but I feel like it dries faster, maybe because it’s not really thick…idk:P Revlon actually claims that these nail enamel have a “fragrance revealed when dry” and have “vibrant, shiny shades”, I would totally AGREE with this, it dries really shiny and top coat is not necessary for this nail polish.

Apricot Nectar

Apricot Nectar:

• It has a really cute and sweet scent of apricot which is amazing, sometimes it might smell a little bit weird when mixed up with other scents, but I would recommend to use it alone without any other polishes as it would cover up the scent of the polish
• It is in this really cute coral-orange-ish colour, the colour of the polish dries just like what is seen in the bottle, but a little darker as all paints or pigments would dry darker.

Pink Pineapple

Pink Pineapple:

• If you are a fan of cotton candy, you would love how this smells. It smells JUST like cotton candy with a hint of pineapple, I love it sooooo much that I keep smelling my nails (eww). 
• The colour dries EXACTLY like how it is in the bottle, neither lighter nor darker, I would totally recommend it to you all. My current favourite nail polish colour among with apricot nectar, both from the Revlon Parfumerie series. 

I only got two colours from the collection as there aren't any other colours that really appeals to me, but I’m planning to get more as they are my favourite. I wish they would have a larger range of colours so that I could possibly work with better.

My Favourite Lip Balms! Lip Balm Love

I found my lips are always dry for all seasons, I mean even in the summer times, I had tried out a lot of lip product and quite a few of them did not quite help me. Lip balm is something that I would carry all around, other than my phone, wallet and keys the must have would be a lip balm, and of course staying hydrated is always important in order to keep your lips moisturized. Now, I have such a huge addiction in collecting lip balms, and are hanging all around my house.

1. Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Lip Therapy Rosy - It is my favourite lip therapy lately, might not be the best. But it smells fantastic, it also comes with a bit of colour, with is really nice for school and natural makeup look. One thing I don't really like about it is that its not as convenient as chapstick or lip balms, you have to use your fingers to apply the product.
2. eos Blueberry Acai Smooth Sphere Lip Balm - I am so crazy about eos lip balms lately and also a great big hit! The flavour Blueberry Acai is my favourite so far, it smells sweet and delicious with amazing moisture to my lips. The sphere shape is definitely cute and easy, as you can easily apply the lip balm on your lips in just 1 or 2 tries.Its also 100% natural and 95% organic, definitely worth it.
3. Burt's Bee Beeswax Lip Balm -  Not the best kind of smell, but 100% natural and superb moisture! Even not as moisturize as others but not bad at all, just smells bit weird.
